Day 96 - Friday, March 8 - Grocery Shopping

It rained last night and a little more this morning, but not to hard. It was cloudy most of the day. The high was in the high 70's.

In the morning we went grocery shopping, maybe our last chance at buying some of the HEB grocery products we like. In the afternoon Kathy stayed home and I went to the Texas Energy Museum. I had planned on also visiting the Edison Museum but it was closed by the time I left the Energy Museum.

Our original plan was to leave here tomorrow but we decided to stay another night and leave on Sunday. That gave us another night to eat at Tia Juanita's Fish Camp.

The food there is good, it is amazing how quick they get your food out and the prices aren't overly high. The only drawback we see in going there is that it is LOUD. Both nights we have been there women diners outnumber the men by at least 5 to 1, in the area where we sat tonight is was closer to 10 to 1. Imagine being in a room with twenty 12 year olds all trying to talk over one another. It's kind of like that except most of these women are in the 35-55 age range, and they have full grown, LOUD voices and laughter. During one of the very brief lulls in the din we heard a live band start up in the main room. The only way we knew the band was continuing to play was that some of the time the booming bass was slightly louder than the women. The good news was that after I turned my hearing aids my perceived level of sound dropped to a tolerable level. The bad news was that Kathy couldn't turn her good hearing off.

I was tired when we got home so I only managed a 16 minute, 2.3 mile bike ride around the campground this evening.

God is good. I pray that He blesses you and yours. He has blessed me.
