This morning we went to Kartchner Caverns and took the Big Room tour. The caverns are beautiful and we certainly enjoyed the tour. The story behind the discovery of the caverns and their being kept secret for years was interesting. The state of AZ has went to great lengths to keep the caverns in pristine condition. You go through a series of airlocks when entering and leaving the caverns, to minimize the impact of air exchange with the outside.
In the afternoon we went to Tombstone and had lunch there. Walking up and down the streets and seeing all the actors dressed up as cowboys of the 1800's was interesting. We had lunch at Jaunita's. It was good. Our waitress is a snowbird who used to live in Michigan. She has lived in her Volkswagen Vanagon for a number of years. She typically spends her summers in the Colorado area, typically working as a waitress, and her winters in the south, also working as a waitress.
I have a dental appointment at 7:30 tomorrow and hopefully all I will need is some anti-biotics. Unless things go badly at the dentist we are going to go see the Titan missile, and its silo, about 20 miles south of Tucson.
Temperatures remain great. Highs in the 70's, lows in the 40's. Yesterday and today were pretty windy. It seems that the wind has died down some. We almost didn't go to the pool because it was so windy. Even with temps in the 70's it was quite brisk when getting out of the heated pool, with a 15-20 mph breeze.
Good night to all and may God bless you and yours.
