Day 14 - Sunday, December 17 - End of Second Week

Sunday weather was the nicest it has been while we have been in Corpus Christi. An overnight low of 50 and a sunny, not to windy, high of 68.

We listened/watched online church services in the morning, as well as lounging around. I watched Josh's 12/10 message from The Living Word in California, MO, my home church, as well as Chris's 12/10 message from the Cowboy Church of the Valley in Santa Rosa, TX, where we will attend while in south TX. I didn't want to miss Josh's non-Luke advent messages and I want to be primed for Chris's series once we start attending the Church of the Valley.

In the afternoon we drove further south down Padre Island and then out to the beach. It is amazing how firm the sand is. We drove at least a mile up the beach and then turned around. (It was difficult but I managed to keep  Kathy from doing any high speed Daytona runs while on the beach.😀)

In this area I think it is as much as 5 miles between access points where you can drive out to the beach. This area is posted "Sea Turtle Nesting Area." It looks like vehicle traffic can be blocked out at times. The sign says to report any sighting of nesting sea turtles. I have no idea what time of year nesting occurs.

There are places next to the dunes where you could probably get stuck in loose sand, if you purposely went out of you way.

One of us went wading. It was still a little windy. You probably can't see Kathy's ear muffs, but she is wearing them.

I took a 1.5 mile walk along the beach but stayed out of the water.

Late Saturday night, or maybe early Sunday morning, I finally got our TV settings corrected to where it could "see" the campground WiFi and my phone hotspot. At some time prior to our buying the coach the TV had been upgraded, the in dash radio had been upgraded and the "entertainment center" had been removed. Months ago I bought a cheap DVD play at a thrift store but was not able to get the TV to "see" it. When the maintenance was being done on our coach at Lakeshore (Iuka, MS) I asked them to see if they could fix it. (You can't get to the back of the TV without taking it loose from its mount. It's big enough that I didn't want to try getting it down by myself.) A "splitter" box under the coach had failed. They replaced it and we were able to watch DVD's. When we arrived here we tried to access the WiFi and found that some setting had changed. We don't have any manual for the TV. I went online and couldn't find anything to fix the problem but I didn't find out  how to do a "hard reset" to factory settings. After going through the set up procedures everything seems to be working. Sooo last night after Kathy had watched a couple of old NCIS shows I watched a couple of episodes of Justified on Hulu, instead of doing my nightly blog post on time 😀.

God is good. I pray that He blesses you and yours as He has me.
