Wednesday - We extended our stay at Lakewood in Harlingen, to wait for the tech to come work on the ignitor on one of our stovetop burners and to check our icemaker, which we think leaks a little. It makes ice fine. We are now scheduled to leave here on the 22nd. Lord willing, the current plan it to stay 2-3 nights in the Corpus Christi area before heading north from there. We still don't plan on arriving back in Centertown until after the 1st of April. Pastor Chris is still involved in the stock show and rodeo this week so no Cowboy Church Bible Study, bummer.
Thursday - The repair tech came this afternoon. He looked at the stovetop and said he can't work on it because it is to difficult to get to the bottom of it. I had taken a photo of it to their shop and showed it to them when I requested that they repair it. He looked at the ice maker and said the freezer needed to be defrosted before he could change it. (Kathy defrosts it regularly, there was not a huge amount of ice/frost build up) He said the there are some screws covered by the frost and that those screws go through the back of the refrigerator and also help support the coils on the back of the refrigerator. His concern was that removing the screws through the frost might cause them to twist off and he didn't want the liability for having to fix that. We told him to forget it. When I go in to pay them for the service call I will ask for a invoice that states that they confirmed that the burner ignitor is bad and that the ice maker does leak. Hopefully that will be enough to get our current Service Contract holder to pay for any repairs on those items whenever we get them fixed, even though the Service Contract expires on the 19th.
We went out to a Mexican restaurant for a late lunch. Kathy had chicken tacos and I had a chimichanga. She said hers was a little bland, mine was good. We drove through the downtown area of Harlingen on our way home. There are LOTS of antique/curio/junk stores, but nothing looked worth stopping to visit.
Today was another WINDY day, constant winds 20-25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph.
Our friendly rabbit is still hanging around.
