Tuesday, 314 - Pie Night

A few days ago I posted a photo of a rabbit under a pickup at an adjacent site. This morning I was sitting outside reading my daily scripture when a rabbit came out from under our coach right next to me, just off the concrete at the bottom of the photo. By the time I slowly got my phone around to take a picture it had moved away a little.

This morning I took my notebook computer over to the campground library hotspot so that I could access the Internet. The campground manager (the man I prayed for yesterday morning) walked in and said he was glad he saw me. He asked me if I had heard what happened yesterday afternoon. I told him no. One of the men here passed out while playing Pickle Ball. Not only did he pass out, his heart stopped. A nurse who was with the group started CPR while someone ran to get the defibrillator. The nurse asked him to take over the CPR while she did other things. He said that his CPR training was years old and that he was questioning whether or not to take over, then the thought stuck him, if God sent someone to pray for him that morning certainly what was going on was in God's hands. He said he calmed down and took over CPR. The man is in the hospital but is in stable condition. They expect him to return to the campground within days.

I extended our stay here another week, still hoping to get the ignitor on the stove burner and the ice maker fixed under our Service Contract before we leave.

At 5PM was PI night. Kathy make a pecan pie and an onion pie. There were plenty of pies.

From one end of tables

From the other end.

We had a nice visit with a couple from Ankeny, Iowa. Ankeny is about 20 miles from the small town we lived in in the late 70's. I drove by Ankeny every day on my way back and forth to work.

The other couple at our table had lived in North Carolina but relocated to Massachusetts (I didn't catch why they moved) when they started full timing earlier this year. They had a couple of great stories about problems with  their travel trailer. I think all RV'ers have great stories about their problems with their RV's. They are living in a 17' travel trailer right now, while deciding what they want long term.

It was cooler today, the high was only 71. It was delightful. It did mist rain on and off most of the day but any rain here is a blessing. A guy I was talking to when I was out walking said he has been here 2.5 months and this is the first time it has rained.

God is good. I pray that He blesses you and yours.
