Not much exciting happening. Weather has finally cooled down. It was 44 here this morning, what a big change.
One of the things worth mentioning is that we went to see the movie Jesus Revolution, with Kelsey Grammer (of Frazier fame) playing the part of Pastor Chuck Smith. I had heard of Chuck Smith and Greg Laurie but don't remember ever hearing about Lonnie Frisbee and the work he and his wife did pulling hippies into Christianity. I recommend it.
This morning we thought that there was going to be a ranch centered competition at the Cowboy Church after the service. It quite drizzling around 9AM, and was cool and damp. Kathy decided not to go because of a combination of the weather and not feeling up to walking/standing around at the arena after church.
The competition happened, but it happened after a Cowboy Church outreach service at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo at Mercedes, TX. The backup Pastor preached at the normal 9:00 service at both Victoria Palms RV Resort and at the 11:00 Cowboy Church service near Santa Rosa. I attended the 11:00 regular Cowboy Church service. Of the 60-75 people who attended the "regular" service I think almost all of us old snowbirds. All the Texas regulars must have been at the outreach service in Mercedes.
We have decided to move from Harlingen to Corpus Christi Monday.
God is good. I pray that He blesses you and yours.
