There are still over 300 people in Cumberland County who don't have power after the ice storm a couple of weeks ago. Weather has been okay here until today when it started drizzling rain around 1:30PM. We got a scare about 5PM, the power went off. It came back on at 6:30PM but we were beginning to wonder.
I've not done a lot while here. I've run about 2 tanks of gas through the chainsaw doing cleaning up the fallen trees that were partially blocking Tom (Kathy's brother) & Mary Lou's driveway. Tom had back surgery yesterday. He will be in the hospital several more days. Hopefully this time the surgery will be successful. This surgery was much more invasive than the last one. His activities may be limited for as long as 5 months.
The weather is really changing. We may get heavy rains tonight and tomorrow and then the temperatures are supposed to drop dramatically. Right now, 9PM, it is 57 degrees, the warmest it has been all day. It is supposed to stay this warm until around noon tomorrow and then temperature is supposed to drop steadily until is reaches 9 degrees Friday morning.
Yesterday I got to spend some time visiting with a couple of the neighbors, Delmer & Marvin Burgess. Today, while I was out doing clean-up work I saw other neighbors out doing the same and went down and visited with Bill & Sally for awhile.
Tomorrow's activities will be weather dependent. If it rains as much as is being forecast I make put up more dry wall in our cabin. If not I may cut some firewood.
May God bless you and yours.
