We have been back in Missouri for several days now. The trip back was okay until I pulled in to the little store down the road from us. We always unhook the car in their parking lot because we can't make the turn into our driveway with the car hooked to the motorhome.
It was drizzling rain, and I was a little tired. I was trying to make sure to get as far as I could to one side of the parking lot so that we could make a U-turn with the motorhome and head it back out, after unhooking the car. Sadly I got to far to the edge, to quick. In addition to groceries the store sells storage buildings. They have them around the perimeter of their parking lot. As you can see in the photo below I got a little to close to one of them as I was making the corner around it. The corner of the building eave is several inches inside the window.
I have an Tuesday morning appointment at the Camping World store in Columbia, about an hours drive from us, to get an estimate for the insurance company. The guy who manages the store is our neighbor. He was really good about it. I told him to let me know what it cost to repair the eave and I would pay him.
As I drove into our driveway I saw a deer standing in the drive, it was eating something along the edge of the driveway. I took this photo through the windshield but it let me get clear out of the car before it finally took off. When it did take off I noticed that there were 3 other deer in the trees that show in the right side of the photo.
No surprises at home. The only things turned off were the pump and the hot water heater. Both of them started up fine.
We haven't been doing a lot since getting back. We finally finished unloading the motorhome today. Lydia was here the first day back. Kathy has been doing some cleaning and laundry. I split a few pieces of wood by hand and have done a little (very little) tree trimming and weed eating. Nothing to exciting.
Our son Doug, he lives in Indianapolis, had a knee swell up and he was admitted to the hospital a couple of days ago. He has an infection, I think behind the knee cap. The Doctor thought they might have to do surgery but this morning it appeared that the strong antibiotics are working and that surgery won't be necessary.
May God bless you and yours.
