Feb 13th - Safe Arrivals

I think everyone on the Towers side has now arrived safely in Surfside Beach. We picked up Kelsey & Lydia yesterday morning at the airport in Houston. It took us longer to drive the 85 miles to the airport than it did for them to fly from Kansas City. We left the RV park at 6:00AM and they took off at 6:25AM. We arrived at the airport at the same time, 8:25AM. Traffic in Houston is almost unbelievable.

This was on the north side of the city. Our lanes had cleared up but the southbound lanes looked like what we had to drive through to get into Houston. Mile after mile of stacked up vehicles.

Lydia wanted to go out and fly her kite but after Kathy got it up in the air Lydia found more interesting things to occupy her time.

We didn't do much yesterday after the drive to the airport. We walked down the beach to the beach house being rented for the Towers family & friends, and spent time visiting.

Kelsey went out with the girls and checked out Houston yesterday afternoon and evening. Sounds like they had a good time.

Doug and Anthony arrived mid-morning, after leaving Indy around 3PM yesterday and driving all night to get here. Lydia sure was happy to see her Grandpas Doug & Anthony. They are staying at the beach house. Tom came down and visited for awhile. Other than that I haven't done much today. Kelsey spent several hours helping with wedding decorations. Most are over at the wedding rehearsal now.

Tonight there is supposed to be a BBQ supper at the Williams beach house. They have piled up a big pile of driftwood for a bonfire after supper but it is pretty windy so I'm not sure if they will have it.

It is supposed to be sunny and in the high 60's tomorrow and Sunday. The sun is so bright here that sunny and low 60's means that shorts and tee shirts are all that you need to wear outside.

May God bless you and yours.
