It rained lightly, on and off, during the last night. When we got up it was FOGGY. The fog, in addition to our being tired, caused us to decide to remain in Eastland today.
During one of the brief dry times I did a campground walkabout. It is a big place, with a lot of vacant sites. The aerial photo below is from the campground's website. It is interesting that when we were close to arriving here last night I looked at the area in Google maps satellite mode. I'm surprised that Google maps are so old.
Our coach is in the middle of photo below.
I had not unhooked the car from the coach the last two nights. I started unhooking it and learned that the battery was dead. Not only had I not unhooked the car I did not bother to unplug the auxiliary brake, it applies the car brakes when the coach brakes are applied. The wiring system between the coach and the car is supposed to charge the car battery when the coach is running. I'll have to do some checking. I have jumper cables and jumped it using the coach batteries. When I got back in the coach Kathy put my raincoat and tee shirt in the dryer.
I left the car idling, to charge the battery. A half hour later I went to a nearby gas station and filled it up, $2.54/gal. Kathy always kids about donuts when we drive by donut shops. I saw a donut place and picked up some to take back with me.
Later we went out to a Chinese buffet for a late lunch, and then drove around town checking things out. We stopped at a grocery store and Kathy went in, mostly to look around. It started pouring so I took her an umbrella and both of us were wet by the time we got back in the car. Coats went back in the dryer when we got home.
It has rained, on and off, all day. It is a "gentle" thunderstorm. As I sit here typing this I the sky occasionally flashes from distant lightening.
Tomorrow we plan on driving to Midland, TX. I have reservations for two nights so that we can look around Midland a little.
God is good. I pray that He blesses you and yours.
