Nov 28th - At YWAM in Texas

We arrived about 2 PM today. The overnight low in McAlester last night was actually 24 degrees. It was the coldest temperature we have experienced while living in the motorhome. Since we overnighted at a Walmart parking lot we had to run our generator most of the night to provide electricity for the heat pads on the tanks, run the furnace blower, keep a light bulb on behind the refrigerator, which is basically outside, to keep the ice maker water line from freezing and to power my CPAP machine.

I mentioned in last nights post that I would include some photos I took at a rest area in OK.
The sidewalk had a center stripe painted to make it look like a highway, Route 66.

The picnic tables were in little structures that represented stores.

Here we are parked at YWAM near Lindale, TX. Sorry for the bad photo. I don't know why it turned out so cloudy.

This is the view out the front window of our motorhome. Beyond the trees, which are mostly oaks, is one of the many ponds on the property.

And this is a view to one side of us. I'm not sure what is in the building. Looking the other way is similar. We are the lone campers here.

In January some SOWERS (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready), I think 4 RV's, are coming to spend a month volunteering so is we are still here we will have some neighbors then. We may be in the boonies but we have GREAT WiFi. They recently installed a hub(?) within 75' of our motorhome.

We walked over to the dining hall for supper tonight. It is over a  half mile to the hall. The food was good. I will walk over and meet Ron Coombs for breakfast at 7. He is the guy who I will be working with/for. Sometime tomorrow morning Kathy and I are supposed to get a tour of the campus. I think it is about 450 acres.

Low temp for tonight is supposed to be 32. For the remainder of the week they are forecast to range from 30-41. Highs are forecast to range from 51-59. Most of the days are supposed to be sunny so the days should be pleasant.

Good night to all and may God bless you and yours.
