Day 96 - Tuesday, March 4 - Hot & Dry

It was WINDY last night. We pulled in the dining room slide before we went to be and then Kathy got up around 5 AM and pulled in the kitchen side slide. At 6 AM the airport reported that the wind was blowing at 28 mph with gusts of up to 46 mph. At 5 PM the wind was still blowing at 18 mph, with gusts of 29 mph. Now, at 9 PM it down to less than 10 mph.  Today's high temperature was 91, but the humidity was less than 10%, it didn't even feel hot. We sat outside for awhile.

Our washer has been giving Kathy some problems. It sometimes stops during the middle of a load and the error codes suggest unplugging it for a minute and then plugging it back in. Getting to the plug is virtually impossible but turning the breaker off and then back on works. The frequency of the problem has been increasing. It did it a couple of days ago and again this morning. I called Steve, the guy who was out to work on our Sleep Number bed on January 31st. He stopped by an hour later and is going to call Splendide to ask about the issue.

Today was Jam day. There were 7 regulars and an audience of less than 20 today. People are already starting to head back north. Next week will be the last session here at Lakewood. Kathy & two other ladies sang I'll Fly Away. It was the first time they sang with the Jammers.

Today is Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday. Folks down here don't get as crazy about Mardi Gras as the Escapees at the campground in Summerdale, AL used to. The Summerdale group crowed a King and Queen, decorated golf carts and had a parade. Here they just put out masks, beads, etc. on the tables. Several people did come in wearing some pretty elaborate masks. We sat across from a couple from Nebraska. They are heading home Thursday.

When Kathy started watching Wheel of Fortune I headed back over to the clubhouse and did 45 minutes on the treadmill. I had ridden my bike over to the "Sweatshop". When I came out it was so nice that I did a lap around the outside of the campground, only a half mile. By then the temperature was in the low 70's and the humidity was only around 10%.

Below is a photo of a rig that has been here for a couple of weeks. I don't know if it is a single person or a couple. It is one of the biggest Class C's I've seen. The golf cart and motorcycle are hauled in the trailer.

God is good. I pray that He bless you and yours. He has blessed me.
