It rained most of the night. Last nights low temp was mid 50's. Today's high was 63. It is supposed to get down into the mid 40's tonight. It was cool in the shade but walking around downtown with a flannel shirt on was quite comfortable.
This is our site at the campground.
We went to “the largest Costco in the US” this morning. The
only think that I found surprising was that we have to import goat and sheep carcasses
from other nations.
New Zealand lamb carcass.
Australian goat carcass.
In the afternoon we went to downtown Salt Lake City, only a few miles from the campground, and
walked around. It is beautiful downtown.
All of the above photos are taken at the Mormon church complex. Salt Lake City was laid out with the temple being the city center, not the capitol building.
Under this area is a 4 level parking garage where you can park 2 hours for free. If you have lunch at a downtown restaurant you get free parking for another hour. After that the charge is $2/hour.
There appears to be great mass transit in the area. The Salt Lake City area is growing fast. Unemployment is only 3%. The bad news is that, in spite of a lot of effort to provide help there is a substantial population of homeless here.
John, Leanne & Olivia came for supper. It was good to get
more time to visit with them. Olivia is a hoot. The photographer (me) did a
lousy job getting a decent photo of her.
God is good, may He bless you and yours.
