Kathy, Kelsey, Lydia & Nolan left for MO a little after 7 this morning. Hopefully the drive wan't be to bad.
Last night Lydia put knobs on all the cabinet drawers. I drilled the holes and she installed the knobs.
Church was supposed to be something of a 4th of July celebration today and I didn't bother to go. I went out around 9:30 and spent 1.5 hours cutting brush in the "lane:. Some of the small trees were already 3-4' tall. With the leaves back on it is just a wall of green where I quit cutting trees this spring. This fall I'd like to clear further down the slope, at least until we had a view of the ridge that is about 7 miles from here. The end of where I've cleared is probably 600-800' from the house and the elevation is at least 20' lower than at the house.
In the afternoon I finished splitting wood that was on a trailer. It took be a little over an hour. Around 4 PM we got a little over 3/4" of much needed rain.
May God bless you and yours. I hope you have a happy 4th of July, Independence Day. Perhaps we need to be thinking about another Declaration of Independence from the current overbearing, nanny state, government that wants to rule every aspect of our lives.
