Sunday was a busy day for us. Cowboy Church in the morning and then home for lunch. We continue to be amazed at how many of us old snow birds attend the Cowboy church. I wouldn't be surprised if half of the 200-250 who attend are snow birds. This is in addition to all those who attend the 9 AM service at the Victoria Palms campground, which is a 15-20 minute drive SW of the church.
In the afternoon there was an ice cream social at the clubhouse and in the evening the Rio Grande Men's Gospel Choir (about 24 guys) performed at the clubhouse. Church was good, as always, so was the ice cream. The choir music was a little high brow for me but Kathy loved it. Even I found the the choir asking the audience to join in for God Bless America touching.
They did I'll Fly Away for an encore, and asked the audience to join in, more my kind of music. It was also good because one of the hymns we sang in the morning was I'll Ride Away, the cowboy version of I'll Fly Away.
Several times I've mention that Kathy spent time at the clubhouse working on puzzles. Below are the most recent puzzles that have been put together. The butterfly one is almost complete.
Monday we went to lunch at Lonnie's Down Home Restaurant, about 15 minutes from us. My fish basket was good, Kathy's chicken fried chicken was very good, especially her side of a cup of chili.
