Brrrh!!!! Centertown, MO was to cold for this old guy last night, and the night before. Weather.com says that Wednesday's low was 27 and last nights low was 19, to cold to enjoy living in a motorhome. I put a 75 watt bulb in the "basement" where Kathy has some quart jars of juice stored and another in the "wet bay" that provides access to the water and sewer connections. Also, the rear propane furnace blows some hot air into the wet bay when it runs. We didn't freeze anything up but we sure did burn a lot of propane the past couple of days. I'm glad we filled our onboard 35 gallon propane tank last week.
We left around 9:30 AM this morning. Kathy drove us cross country, thru Rolla and Ellington, down to Poplar Bluff, MO, 213 miles. It's about halfway to where we want to spend Sunday night. We had initially planned to leave on Saturday morning but the snow in the forecast, and the temperatures, pushed us to leave a day early, but after a great Thanksgiving dinner at Kelsey & Andy's.
We are spending the night at the Camelot RV Park in Poplar Bluff. I stayed here in June 17, 2013 when we had our 2004 Dutch Star. It cost us $29 for an overnight stay then, today the discounted rate is $45. Being a member of Good Sam's or Family Motor Coach gets you a 20% discount. Cash or check only. The other time I stayed here I was "solo". I had driven the motorhome from Centertown to our place in Tennessee and spent some time working on it. On the way back I stopped at Logan Valley Christian Retreat in Ellington, MO and helped them with a construction project. Reading the old blog posts brought back memories of the HEAVY rain I encountered when crossing the Mississippi. To make it even more fun the wind was blowing HARD. The end of the trip https://bertdsblog.blogspot.com/2013/06/june-22nd-back-home-in-centertown.html
Last nights low in Poplar Bluff was also only 23. Tonight's low is forecast to be 25. Guess I better get out and get my "heaters" (two 75 watt bulbs) set up before it gets dark. Doesn't look like we will get any decent temperatures until we get much closer to the Gulf Coast, maybe a week from now.
God is good. I pray that He blesses you and yours. He has blessed me.
