We arrived back at our home base in Centertown, MO (Kelsey & Andy's) at 12:15PM today. Today was another 100 plus miles of hanging on in the wind. I drove today and for awhile I thought my hands were going to cramp, but they didn't, PTL.
Gasoline cost an average of $3.28/gal. The most expensive was $4.49/gal in Cathedral City, CA. The least expensive was $2.54/gal in Eastland, TX. Four of our five Texas fill ups were less than $3/gal.
Fuel cost an average of $4.11/gal. The most expensive was $4.69/gal in California, MO, when we left. We didn't buy fuel in the state of California. A 150 gallon fuel tank lets you pick and choose where you fill up. The least expensive was $3.49/gal in Texas (Fuel cost us $3.69/gal in Kingsville, TX).
All in all it was a good trip. We didn't get to have a family Christmas get together in California but we did get to spend a lot of time with Drew, our son who lives in Oakland. The best weather we had was the month we spent in Cathedral City, CA, but its to expensive, and to far away, to go back there.
Other than a lot of windy days the Texas Mexico border between McAllen and Brownsville was nice. I could see myself wanting to spend winters down there. Corpus Christi was nice I think a lot better campground deals can be had along the border, plus we both absolutely loved the Santa Rosa Cowboy Church that had Sunday morning services at the campground where we stayed in Donna, TX. If we go back down there we might pick a campground located where we can actually attend church in Santa Rosa.
I don't plan on continuing daily blog posts. If, Lord willing, we head north for the summer, I will probably restart them.
God is good. I pray that He blesses you and yours.
